FYI continued
Should You Contact the Church Office?
Ask yourself these questions:
Has my address, email address, or phone number changed?
Have I been getting this newsletter in the mail, but could just as easily read it from an e-mail?
Have my or family members’ special occasions (birthdays/anniversaries) been missing from the newsletter?
If you have answered “yes” to any of these questions, please use one of the “database update” forms on the Narthex table or contact Susan in the office to have our database updated! (A quick message on the answering machine is all it takes to help us maintain accurate records!)

Hall Rentals Available...Book Your Parties Now!
Call the Church Office: (440) 277-6123
When we are finally able to get together in person, our hall will probably book up fast! If you are interested in using the Hall for any event (bridal or baby shower, graduation party, family reunion, anniversary celebration), please call the Church office to see if your date is available. Church members are asked to remit the regular deposit fee of $150.00, but that will be returned when the event is over. There is no set fee for a member’s use, but we would ask for a donation to help the kitchen update fund.

Eternal Candle and Flower Sheets for 2024 are up on the bulletin board by the Office and have plenty of empty spaces! The Eternal Candle is $5.00 per week and the flowers are $20.00 per vase. If there is no-one signed up for flowers, we will not order fresh bouquets for that week. (We will instead use our beautiful silk arrangements.) Sign up for a Sunday and designate an occasion, a memorial, or an honor for someone. And please mark an offering envelope with your name and amount. Thanks! (Remember: there are no flowers on the altar during Lent.)
That there are sign up lists on the bulletin board outside the church office? You can sign up to designate flowers or a candle in memory or in honor of a loved one or special occasion.
There’s also a sign up list to be a Sunday morning reader! Many thanks to those who have already signed up: I love seeing new names on the list! There are still some spots available through the rest of the year!

For those who have requested this newsletter via email: all name and email addresses are up-to-date and have been added to our email account. If you’ve not received yours via email, please talk to me so we can figure it out! One thing I can tell you: GMAIL does not allow our emails to be received without prior authorization from you! They think we are “spam” because we send a bulk email. People with GMAIL have options: contact Gmail to correct the issue, have your newsletter emailed to a different address, (Maybe at work?) request a paper copy be mailed to you, or pick up your copy on the Narthex table at the church. This is something that WE have no control over. It must be handled with Gmail. Thanks you for understanding!
Are You a Thrivent Member?
If so, you are likely eligible to apply for a $250 Thrivent Action Team. This promotion includes a $250 pre-paid Visa gift card, 25 t-shirts, and many more promotional items. The gift card can be used as seed money for fund-raisers or community outreach projects; and each member is eligible to apply for 2 annually. Why do I mention this, now? Because it’s the end of the calendar year; and if you don’t use it, you lose it! Several members have already been using their Action Teams to help with our 3 Kings program, GALS projects, and even Bluegrass Nights. Talk to Susan if you’re a member, (or interested in becoming one!) and she can help you with more information!

Have you included Christ Lutheran in your Will?
The old adage “you can’t take it with you” reminds us that we need to be generous stewards of God’s gifts while we are still living. And we receive the joy of seeing our contributions help the church thrive and grow. But we can also use those gifts after we’re gone to help Christ Lutheran continue its ministry to the community. Think about making a donation to the church through your will or estate planning. You can continue to make a big difference in the church’s ministry even when you are in heaven!
