Council Meeting Highlights........November 5th, 2024
Council met Jan. 7. Called to order 6:56 pm by VP Mark Vitas. Devotions by Terri Camp. Agenda approved w/no additions/changes. Minutes from Jan. mtg. approved w/changes: Bluegrass: Dec. was $1,750. $9,684 was year-to-date. 3Kings changed to 106 kids and 43 families.
Pres. Report: Dave absent, but Susan gave info: storage closet done, Dave fixed leaky sink. Dave’s priorities upon return from FL will be Sound System and Electronic sign.
Treas. Report: Synod Giving completed $7,500. Half to Candidacy/Recruitment and half to Disaster Relief. Thrivent Transfer completed and discussed allocations. To add line item for adopt-a-school to 2025 budget $250. Dec. financials: Inc: $22,414.81 Exp: $23,608.20 Net Loss $1,193.39
Report approved. Audit sched for after church on Jan. 12.
Off. Secy Report: Need for devotion/newsletter sign-ups, and many filled. Usual order for poinsettias is 16. 2024 was 22. Republic p/u now sched. for Mon. Discussed need to update constitution. Last was 2012. To wait for new Pastor. Re-visited Acolyte/Assistants list. All agreed to put out committee sign-up sheets at annual meeting. Working on Annual Meeting reports. Working on Zelle QR code. Lent Services: Ash Wed noon and 7pm. Maundy Thurs 7 pm. Good Fri noon. Wednesdays: 6-7:30 soup and salad, simple theme service or whatever Steve wants to do! Discussed possibility of Steve becoming Interim. General consensus to leave as is for now. Will revisit.
Commitees: Bluegrass: $650 in Jan. Nell & Tommy gifted $150 ($50 each to Bob Evans, Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel). Rentals: Filled Feb. dates. Euch Min: Jackie Working on Spreadsheet. Worship: to consider earlier worship for Christmas Eve. Christ. Ed: Susan to get Thrivent card for KOK March 2. Fellow: Feb: desserts to be donated by Deanna Powell, as Bohn to be baptized. Food Pantry going well, and getting Lake Ridge stuff organized. St. Andrew’s Meal going well. 113 meals in Dec. Preparing for remodel,/moving operations. Prop: Discussing update to back pantry light. Co-Op: March 22 Am. Legion fund-raiser will need 2 baskets. They will match up to $2,000 and donated $5,000. Warm-a-Child: Took 12 winter sets. Adopt-a-School: Can always use coats and girls clothing. Call: Nothing new. To have MSP at annual meeting Videotaping: issues resolved. Be careful of people sitting in front of camera. 3Kings: 2 families didn’t p/u: in lounge. If not p/u, to Blessing House.
Old Bus: card rack, plaques, and cross all placed. Susan transferred signage to Terri Camp.
New Bus: Nominating Committee Slate: Terri Camp, Sue Citro, Louise Hall, Deanna Powell, Chris Yonkings. Jackie not to run for re-election. Pat Schrull to resign. 4 openings, 5 candidates. Slate passed w/council vote. Mtgs. Feb. 4 at 7 pm (Devotions: Pat Schrull) March 4 at 7 pm (Devotions: Karen Kovacs)
