Council Meeting Highlights........May 6th, 2025
Council met May 6, devotions by Andrea.
Minutes of the April meeting reviewed: 1 correction: Susan to update: that last month’s Treas. report was not reconciled, as meeting was April 1. Minutes accepted as corrected.
Pres. Report: Defibrillator received. Discussed placement. To mount in the kitchen, over the trash can, on “restroom wall”. Lenten piggy banks brought in $173. Discussion re: where to donate. Sue made motion to VBS. Andrea second. Motion passed. Shed was broken into over Holy Week. Weed whacker and leaf blower stolen. Dave added signs and security cameras. Discussion re: Pastor Steve being Interim Pastor. (Tabled till next meeting for further discussion.)
Treas. Report: April Inc: $16,265.36. Exp: $16,586.79 net loss $321.4. Liquid assets $501,564.83. Ed shared first quarter budget.
Office Sec. Report: Need Sept. devotions: Terri volunteered. Louise to do May News. article, and volunteered for Sept. and Dec. articles. Synod Assembly to be virtual this year. Karen to find more info and register.
Comm. Reports: Bluegrass $1,700 this month. Rentals openers and closers for May 9: Dave both; May 10 Brenda O & Dave C; and May 24 Dick O & Dave C. Euch. Min. Dave and Karen visited Sue Rhodes, Barb Wright, and Lora Conrady in April. Deanna visited Koepke, Helms, Citro, Payne, Don & Thelma, Menges. Jackie to visit Marcia if not in church this week. Co-Op: Reappointed Andrea and Jackie as our representatives for upcoming year. Redeemer Episcopal having plant sale Sat. May 9 10a-3p. Great Lakes has abundance of clothing. Hygiene bags are ready. Kitch. Remodel: Much discussion re gen. contractor. Lots of details shared. Discussed budget, bids, timeline, etc. Shared pix of cabinet options. Tabled till next meeting. Property: Shed broken into. To work on sign when weather allows. Mower repaired. Adopt a School: Delivered 5 dozen donuts for Teacher Appreciation week.
Pantry: 2nd Harvest grant of $650 for mesh routers. Had issue re: someone bringing pet. Stephanie ordered signs re: no pets, except service. Dave to call PD for presence during pantries. Questions re: Andrea and freezer receipt. LCCC nursing students looking for community service. Sign-up sheet on bulletin board for Thrivent cards. Videotaping: Hope mesh routers help w/recording issues. Fellowship: 5 adults and 5 kids bowling. Highest scores Mark and Layla. Sunshine Comm: Karen, Donna, and Chris to send thank you letters to kitchen donors.
Old Bus: Everything went well Lent and Easter. Mark motion to change exterminator to Hoban ($80). Sue second. Passed. Dave to call Hoban and cancel Central. Work in Progress: Signage: Terri Camp process over-whelming with options. Requested guidance. Tabled. New Internet: Ed. Zelle QR code from Huntington: Susan. Sound System: To work on soon, but microphone working well for now.
New Bus: Mark to ask Carol re:2 comm. hymns instead of one.
State of Church: Dave reminds that everyone needs to remember to keep “spiritual growth” in forefront of our “business”.
